“Uttar Pradesh is making its identity from a ‘BIMARU’ state to an expressway state. Remember what the conditions were eight years ago. The youths of Uttar Pradesh and the residents of the state would suffer from an identity crisis. People used to feel scared to take the name of Azamgarh and Uttar Pradesh,” he said.
“Azamgarh has given two chief ministers and this Azamgarh had to beg for identity But, today in a span of eight years under the guidance of PM Modi, now Azamgarh does not have to beg for identity,” Adityanath said.
He was apparently referring to former chief ministers Mulayam Singh Yadav and his son Akhilesh Yadav, who contested from the Azamgarh seat.
“Azamgarh has now become the fortress of indomitable courage. Now, it has integrated (itself) with the mainstream of development,” he said.
The 91.352-km-long Gorakhpur link expressway has been built at a cost of Rs 7,283 crore.
Hitting out at the previous state governments, Adityanath claimed they used to partner with D-company and Dawood gang instead of development, breached security and made Azamgarh a stronghold of terror.
“They did not do development, they nurtured Mumbai’s D Company, they nurtured Dawood’s gang with D Company, they did partnerships with them, they used to break the security, whenever there was a terrorist incident, Azamgarh would get a bad name, these youth of mine faced an identity crisis,” he alleged.
“Today if someone breaches the security of the country, the identity of Azamgarh will not be in danger, rather the person creating the crisis will be given a ticket to hell. This is the new India and Prime Minister Modi has also given a clear message to the enemies of the country through Operation Sindoor that if someone instigates terrorism, inspires and encourages terrorism, then (we) will enter and kill them, whether it is a surgical strike, air strike or Operation Sindoor. The brave soldiers of India will enter the enemy’s den, flush them out and finish them off,” Adityanath said.
“In 2007-08, Ajit Rai was murdered in Shibli National College for advocating singing of Vande Mataram, but now no one can dare to do such a thing. Today, if anyone tries to play with the security of the state, then Yamraj’s (lord of death) ticket is already booked for him,” he said.
Prior to the inauguration of the Gorakhpur Link Expressway, Adityanath said that Uttar Pradesh is now taking a new flight of development with the largest expressway network in the country.
“The Gorakhpur Link Expressway, connecting Gorakhpur to several districts, including Azamgarh, will pave new avenues for industrial progress, tourism development and investment in eastern Uttar Pradesh,” he posted on X.
Later, amid chanting of Vedic mantras, Adityanath dedicated the expressway to the general public and then left for Gorakhpur.
He also said this expressway will provide world-class connectivity to Azamgarh as well as Ambedkar Nagar, Sant Kabir Nagar and Gorakhpur.
He said the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, the construction of a grand temple of Lord Ram Lalla on Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya, the Kashi Vishwanath Dham in Kashi, the development of Maa Vindhyavasini Dham, the development of Chitrakoot Dham are giving a new identity today.
“Our work has also started in Mathura-Vrindavan. Maharaja Suheldev University and Medical College in Azamgarh are strengthening the identity of culture,” he said. Adityanath also referred to the recent recruitment of 60,244 police constables to say that youths from every caste and community, including 12,045 girls, got selected without recommendation or money.
“Before 2017, uncle-nephew used to go out for extortion, but now Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas is happening,” he said.
He also spoke about developing industrial clusters along the expressway, so that youths get employment. PTI NAV ZMN
