Important cases heard by the Supreme Court on Tuesday, July 15: * Five social media influencers, including “India’s Got Latent” host Samay Raina, appeared before SC in a case seeking action against them for ridiculing persons suffering from disabilities.

* SC sought response from the Uttar Pradesh government on a plea challenging the state’s directive mandating the display of QR codes on all eateries along the ‘kanwar’ yatra route, which reveal the names and identities of the owners.

* SC granted protection from coercive action to a cartoonist accused of sharing alleged objectionable cartoons of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and RSS workers on social media.

* Political parties relying on caste considerations are equally dangerous for the country, SC observed as it refused to entertain a plea seeking cancellation of registration of All India Majlis-E-lttehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) as a political party.
