Chandigarh, Jul 6 (PTI) Senior Aam Aadmi Party leaders, including Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann, gathered to pay tributes to Tarn Taran MLA Kashmir Singh Sohal who passed away recently.

Punjab Chief Minister Mann said Sohal came from a humble background and went on to become a doctor and later joined politics to serve people.

He was a hardworking and dedicated leader and was loved by all sections of people, the chief minister said addressing the gathering in Tarn Taran during the “bhog and antim ardas” of deceased MLA Kashmir Singh Sohal.

Sohal, the AAP MLA from Tarn Taran, died over a week ago after suffering from an ailment. His death is an irreparable loss for both his family and the party, Mann said.

Reiterating the commitment of the state government to ensure all-round development of Tarn Taran assembly segment, the CM said that he was duty-bound to accomplish the works initiated by late Sohal.

AAP chief Kejriwal described him as a prominent social worker who was always committed for the service of the common man.

The former Delhi chief minister said that though Sohal was suffering from a serious ailment, he continuously served the people with zeal due to which he was very popular.

Sohal was a loyal foot soldier of the party, who was committed to its ideology of serving the masses, the AAP chief said.
