Mathura (UP), Sep 19 (PTI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday blamed the previous “secular” governments at the Centre for failing to make India a global power.
“In the last 11 years, we have seen India transforming. The people in the previous governments used to call themselves secular… The word impossible was attached with such governments that was stopping India from becoming a power in the world. This impossible has been made possible in the last 11 years by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who imbibed the mantra of Deendayal Upadhyaya,” Adityanth said.
In his address, the chief minister said that now the youth of India is not a job seeker, but is capable of becoming a job creator.
CM Adityanath was addressing the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Smriti Mahotsav Mela in Mathura.
The chief minister said that the vision Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay gave to India’s political leadership in the 1950s has now taken shape in the form of “Vocal for Local” and “Swadeshi.” He said that under PM Modi’s leadership, the “impossible has been made possible”, whether it was the removal of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir, the construction of a grand Ram temple in Ayodhya, or providing free rations to 80 crore people.
CM Adityanath said that the Congress and its allies had made Kashmir a ‘naasoor’ (persistent and painful sore) for the country.
The UP chief minister said that what once seemed impossible has now become the country’s strength. “It is due to the impact of Panditji’s mantra that India has become the world’s fourth largest economy and will soon reach the third place,” Adityanath said. He also said that Pandit Deendayal’s mantra was that India’s economic policy should be based on ‘Swadeshi’.
“We should avoid foreign goods and buy local products, so that the money reaches our artisans and farmers, not the forces that spread terrorism and Naxalism,” he said.
Addressing the youth, the chief minister said that today’s time belongs to the youth. He said that under the “CM Yuva Scheme”, the government is providing interest-free, guarantee-free loans up to Rs five lakh. Startups are emerging not only in the IT sector but also in areas like ODOP (One District One Product) and cow-based farming.
He said that if there is an outsourced worker in any department in the state, he will get a minimum honorarium of Rs 16 to 20 thousand.
The four-day festival featured exhibitions of indigenous products, cow-based farming, and women’s self-reliance programmes. Union Minister SP Singh Baghel, UP ministers Laxmi Narayan Chaudhary and Jaiveer Singh, MLA Puran Prakash and others were present on this occasion, the UP government said in a statement.
