This year, special contests such as ‘Yoga with Family’ and youth-focused events have been launched under the ‘Yoga Unplugged’ initiative on platforms like MyGov and MyBharat, encouraging mass participation, she said, according to an official statement.
After joining a live session of the ‘Common Yoga Protocol’ led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Visakhapatnam, the finance minister attended a yoga session conducted by yoga practitioners from the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga.
A yoga event was also organised at the sports complex in Sector-12, where Union Minister of State for Cooperation, Krishan Pal Gurjar, was the chief guest.
Addressing the participants, Gurjar said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken yoga to new heights, as IDY is now celebrated across the country and the world at an unprecedented scale.
“Youth should be trained to become representatives of India in the world by imparting skills through yoga. The aim of the government is to spread yoga to every city and village, so that India can become healthy and strong,” Gurjar said. PTI COR ARI
